Transfer printing experiements

My previous summer work placement gave me some simple zebra patterned trimmings that were not used in production due to the client cancelling.  There was such a wide range of colours I was able to find some in my own colour palette and decided to print on them to create new abstract designs.

Using disperse dye I was able to create a wave like pattern with the scarlet red dye to create the tie dye effect  I had in my woven fabrics.  Then using already made black transfer  paper I cut out blocked, graphical lines to create a grid like image to press onto my samples.  The method worked really well and I like the abstract effect it gives.  The original pattern wasn't destroyed but the trimming was enhanced added more depth and creativity to each sample.
