Tim Walker Exhibition

During a day trip to London I visited the Tim Walker exhibition - Story Teller.   Tim walker displayed  pieces of artwork that expressed his own childhood memories. I have added a link for you to have a look yourself - you really should! I loved his use of crazy bright colours and the colour contrast created in his work.

The Crystallized Roses and Cream Photograph was my favourite because of its use of tonal colours.  At the moment my work is showing a lot of dark colours but I was inspired by this photograph that I want to highlight more of the light colours in my colour palette.

I also noticed that he loved the colour red, using bright bold appearances of the colour throughout his work.  Red is not my favourite colour but I am actually using it in my studies at the moment and my attitude towards the colour is changing!  In some of Tim's work he has used the red with a hint of Gold, such as a rose or a button.  I liked this subtle but striking style in his work and I want to try and incorporate this in my own work.
